Once the preserve of major broadcasters, sports at all levels can now access video production affordably. We have worked on projects with a range of sports including cycling, running, swimming, football, golf, netball and go-karting. Our cameras can operate at up to 240 frames per second at HD1080 resolution allowing for incredible slow-motion whether for dramatic or analytical purposes.
Client Case Study
As part of the 2018 European Championships, Glasgow Life commissioned a selection of videos including sports "explainers", context footage and volunteer interviews. Featuring a two camera interview with the course designer, this video explored MTB racing at the Cathkin Braes track. It uses the backdrop of a West of Scotland racing meet to capture the speed, skill, excitement and variety of the sport along with the impressive setting and its views over Glasgow.
This was a fast turnaround project with the filming confirmed on Friday; event held on Sunday and advanced draft ready for review by Monday.
Key Processes
The production window for gathering context and interview footage for this video was limited to a single afternoon. This emphasised the importance of using a mobile and adaptable setup which could be moved around the MTB race course quickly to capture the action where it was happening and at a safe distance. The project was filmed at twice the normal frame rate (50p vs 25p) which allowed use of slow motion without loss of image quality.
